Banana peanut butter oatmeal
Creamy rolled oats with banana, cinnamon and peanut butter for a simple warm breakfast.

Serving illustration.
Use rolled oats, not steel-cut oats, which need a different cooking method. The oatmeal thickens as it stands, so keep a little extra milk available rather than cooking it dry. Banana provides sweetness without requiring syrup. Stir peanut butter well before measuring if the jar has separated. This recipe contains peanuts and may contain milk; use a suitable alternative only after checking its label.

Before you begin
This recipe makes two servings. Set out the measured ingredients and read all the steps before starting. Use the serving selector for a different number of people; timing does not scale automatically. Larger cooked batches may need a second pan or separate batches.
Serve the banana on top just before eating so its texture stays fresh. For a smaller appetite, keep the recipe proportions and choose the number of people in the card.
